This 1970 Buick Gran Sport 455 Convertible is the epitome of a Buick muscle car ordered with fantastic options and having a superior look! Like many GM muscle cars of the era, the Gran Sport started life merely as a performance-oriented option package for the 1965 Buick Skylark. The first GS Skylarks had improved power under the hood and Buick made sure everyone knew it by placing special trim inside and out. By 1970, the Gran Sport stood on its own and, like most GM muscle cars of the day, 1970 remains a banner year. Across the board, GM was churning out some of its best muscle cars in 1970 from the Chevelle, the 442, the GTO, and of course the GS 455. Perhaps most the most notable change in '70, the Gran Sport received a new big block engine – the 455 V8. This particular '70 GS 455 is believed to have been purchased new at Orano Buick in Dallas, Texas, and comes to us from a Texas-based collector. A 455 Cubic Inch V8 engine with a single 4 barrel carburetor is found under the special air-intake hood on this '70 Gran Sport. The big block 455 is hooked up to an Automatic Transmission, ensuring that just about anybody can take this Buick muscle car for a cruise. Dual exhaust gives this Gran Sport a nice throaty sound. This 1970 GS 455 Convertible has options galore! Factory power steering (N40 code) helps you get in and out of tight spaces and makes driving a more enjoyable experience. With factory power brakes (J50 code), this classic Buick convertible has plenty of stopping power for the increased muscle under the hood. One of the "coolest" options ordered with this Buick when it was new is the factory air conditioning (C60 code) so that you can stay cool even on the warm summer days. The exterior on this '70 Gran Sport 455 has been beautifully refinished in Fire Red exterior paint. The white vinyl power convertible top with rear glass window is in excellent shape and easily goes up and down with the simple push of a button. The interior on this Buick Convertible has a fantastic look and is also loaded with options. The front and rear bench seats have been beautifully reupholstered in white imitation leather. The dash, door panels and steering wheel are all in wonderful shape as well and appear to be in their stock configuration. The dash is equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, and AM/FM radio. All 4 of the power windows work great and go up and down with ease. The driver's side remote adjustable side mirror works great as well assisting you getting in and out of tight spaces. With a tilt steering wheel, getting in and out of this Gran Sport 455 is simplified. Whether you're looking for your very first classic muscle car or your garage is full of them, this 1970 Buick Gran Sport 455 Convertible would be a fantastic choice. Give us a call today!
