This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air is a gorgeous 2 door hardtop with tasteful upgrades that make cruising a total blast! In 1955, Chevrolet completely redesigned its top-of-the-line Bel Air both inside and out, and kicked off what would become known as the Tri-Five Era. The iconic design featured a bolder, squarer, and therefore more modern body lines that gave the new Bel Air a whole new look from nose to tail. The front end treatment of the '55 Bel Air got an entirely new look. The headlights were "hooded;" a design element that would eventually be carried through the rest of the Tri-Five era cars. The 1955 wraparound windshields were another modern upgrade first incorporated into Chevy's 1955 design and carried forward as well. Further differentiating the 1955 design from previous years was the new-look grille and bumper layout that made for a more futuristic looking car up front. Down the sides of the '55 Chevy was a flatter body line that replaced the swooping, bulging rear quarters of yesteryear and modernized the side profile of the 1955 Bel Air. At the rear, the taillight treatment featured a more contemporary design and the decklids were squared off as well. From the outside, it was no surprise that the 1955 Bel Air became an automotive style icon. Nonetheless, the interiors were refreshed as well with a new futuristic dash design and the interior upholstery and trim was considered the plushest and most luxurious of any Chevrolet up until that point. Of course, perhaps the most notable upgrade for Chevrolet's lineup in 1955 was the introduction of a V8 engine which would become a mainstay in the decades that followed. Under the hood on this particular Bel Air is an upgraded 350 Cubic Inch V8 engine fed by a single 4 barrel carburetor. The NOM 350 CID V8 is backed by an upgraded TH350 Automatic Transmission that makes this classic Chevy easy for anybody to take for a spin around the block. Exhaust exits the NOM 350 V8 via a dual exhaust setup that gives this Tri-Five Chevy an excellent throaty sound out the back. The stock wheels have been upgraded to a set a Ridler Grey 606s that provide a tasteful custom look to the exterior of this Bel Air. With 245/40R18 Radial Tires up front and 275/35R18 Radials in the rear, this '55 Chevy has a modest staggered stance and a fantastic ride going down the road. Power front disc brakes along with a dual master cylinder have also been added to this 1955 Bel Air providing much improved and more reliable stopping power, especially with the extra horsepower found under the hood. The exterior on this 1955 Bel Air has been correctly refinished in a gorgeous two-tone paint scheme consisting of Shoreline Beige over Gypsy Red completing the exterior appearance of this Tri-Five Chevy. The interior on this 1955 Chevrolet is dazzling! The front and rear bench seat, and matching door panels, sport two-tone red and white vinyl upholstery that give the interior of this 2 door hardtop a tasteful custom look. The red painted dash and red carpeting carpeting retain a nice stock appearance as well. The stock instrument cluster consists of a 110 MPH speedometer, temperature gauge, and fuel gauge, and the shift indicator has been updated to reflect the upgraded TH350 shift pattern. A pair of Stewart Warner auxiliary gauges have been mounted neatly under the dash as well and include gauges for oil pressure and engine temperature. While the stock AM radio remains in place, a Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit is mounted neatly under the dash as well so that you can listen to all of your tunes while cruising down the road. A stock electric clock sitting underneath the dash-integrated speaker along with red seat belts complete the gorgeous cabin of this 1955 Chevrolet. Whether you're purchasing your first classic car or you're adding to your existing Tri-Five collection, this 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door hardtop would make an excellent choice.
