308 CID Inline 6 - Twin-H Dual 1BBLs - Automatic - Southern History - Pro Built

This 1951 Hudson Hornet Convertible Tribute is a professionally built classic with a unique and iconic look. In 1951, Hudson like the rest of the American manufacturers suffered from restrictions on raw materials as they were needed for the Korean war effort. Furthering Hudson's troubles at the time was its legal disputes with the labor union which caused a cash crunch for Hudson. As a result, Hudson scaled back production and took a loss for the year. By 1951, the Big Three all had their own versions of a V8 engine which were highly successful. Hudson, on the other hand, decided to rework its successful 6 cylinder for its brand new Hornet model because building a new V8 would have been cost prohibitive for the already cash-strapped company. The resulting Hornet motor became the most powerful 6 cylinder available in the United States at the time and the company experienced substantial success on the NASCAR track as well. This particular Hornet was professionally built a number of years back when a removable convertible top was added for an improved and elevated look. Under the hood on this Hornet is a 308 Cubic Inch Inline 6 Cylinder engine with a Twin-H dual 1 barrel carburetor setup, which was a dealer-installed option back in 1951. The 308 Hornet motor is mated up to an Automatic Transmission, ensuring that just about anybody can drive this '51 Hudson. Riding on 4 Wide Whitewall bias-ply tires on wire rims, this '51 Hudson Hornet has a truly classic 50s look. The exterior has a fantastic look having been repainted in beautiful Cornish Cream paint. The red imitation leather bench seat interior is absolutely stunning! In 1951, Hudson touted the roominess of its "step-down" floor which creates more leg room for passengers inside the car while also lowering the center of gravity improving its ride on the roads and on the track. The dash, door panels, and interior all appear to be in their stock configuration and give this Hornet a luxurious look. The woodgrain dash is equipped with a 110 MPH speedometer, temperature gauge, fuel gauge, clock, AM radio, ash tray, and glove box, all of which are accented with chrome trim. Whether you're looking for your very first classic car or you've always wanted to park a Hornet convertible in your garage, this 1951 Hudson Hornet Convertible Tribute would make a fabulous choice.
